Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts are being increasingly prioritized by organizations in various fields, including market research. While these principles are valuable in any sector, they are crucial to effective and unbiased research practices. However, in order to have transformative DEI efforts, team members of all levels and backgrounds must have a voice and a seat at the table. As we continue to focus on DEI, it is key to share and discuss effective success stories and the implications of DEI efforts on the market research community.
Applied Marketing Science (AMS) Litigation Support Manager and DEI Council Leader Raquel Mendizabal Martell, Ph.D. and Field Operations Manager Sarah Schomp will be leading a workshop at the upcoming Insights Association North Atlantic Chapter (IANA) Insights Illuminated Conference.
Their session “Helping You Begin Your DEI Journey - An Interactive Session: Case Study on Examining the Gender Data Gap and Women’s Unpaid Work” will take key quotes from Caroline Criado-Perez's book Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men and facilitate discussion of the ways in which women are underrepresented and overlooked in the workplace, the community, and in market research, as well as how we can work towards an equitable and inclusive world. Sarah and Raquel will also discuss their experiences kickstarting DEI initiatives at AMS, and provide insight into how organizations large and small can begin their DEI journeys.
Catch the workshop on Track 2 from 3:45PM ET to 4:10PM ET – you won’t want to miss out!
The conference will take place in Boston's Seaport District on Friday, May 12, gathering insights professionals from all across New England. Tickets are available to purchase on Eventbrite.
