Applied Marketing Science (AMS) would like to congratulate Associate Principal Andrea Ruttenberg, PhD, on her recent appointment as the President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Product Development and Marketing Association (PDMA).
For over a decade, the Pittsburgh Chapter of the PDMA has been committed to providing its members with valuable product development and management content through educational and social events focused on skill-building, mentorship, and networking.
“It’s a pleasure to be part of such a wonderful organization, and to be appointed to President of the Pittsburgh Chapter,” says Andrea. “While I’m excited to see what my tenure holds, I want to acknowledge the leaders that came before me, who have built a strong foundation for the Pittsburgh Chapter. I’m also fortunate to work alongside many great colleagues on the board of directors,” she adds.
As president, Andrea will be responsible for ensuring quality programming, overseeing the advancement of chapter initiatives and leadership, and managing the budget. Alongside her day-to-day responsibilities, Andrea’s goals include expanding on efforts to build community within the PDMA – especially in widening access to networking events, educational programming, and mentorship opportunities. As the first woman to be appointed president of the chapter, Andrea looks forward to working to open the PDMA’s doors to a more diverse network of product professionals. She adds that, “there is a real opportunity for the PDMA to be inclusive of a wider range of people.”
In her more than 10 years of experience in product development consulting, Andrea has worked with clients in a range of industries, using market research to help them develop successful products, services, and experiences, build stronger brands, and make critical business decisions. In addition to consulting engagements, Andrea provides coaching and training to organizations that want to build their internal insights and market research capabilities.
